National Hispanic Heritage Month Inspires “Hair-raising” Art
September 15 marked the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, and Green Cluster students in 703 kicked off the month with some “hair-raising” art! Students in Ms. Carril’s class created collages inspired by artist Lorna Simpson. Simpson is most known for her photography, collage, and multimedia work, which explores the themes of race, gender, and equality.
Preparing for “Life After Gaynor”
Individualization at Gaynor is not only for classroom instruction, but also for the placement process for those transitioning to their next school. Determining the right time, right school and right grade to enter when a student leaves Gaynor is customized to each individual student and family’s needs and preferences.

The Future is Bright for the Class of 2023!
Members of the Class of 2023 are now officially Gaynor alumni, after a Graduate Breakfast and Graduation Ceremony celebrating their accomplishments and their time at Gaynor.
Breakfast My Way Celebrates Pride
Despite a last-minute change of venue due to the Canadian wildfires, the final Breakfast My Way of the school year on Wednesday, June 7, celebrated Pride Month with a joyful crowd of parents, students, and trustees. This month’s hosts, Seth Rosen and Jacob Goertz, parents to Zach in the Red Cluster, explained the importance of Pride Month, allyship, and being who you truly are.
Names, Not Numbers Project Returns to Gaynor
Stephen Gaynor School students continued their participation in “Names, Not Numbers” for a second year. During a year-long elective class, Blue Cluster students both learned about the Holocaust and shared the stories of survivors through the creation of a documentary.
Community Spirit Takes Center Stage at Gaynor’s Spring Carnival
On Sunday, May 21, nearly 800 members of the Gaynor community unleashed their inner child at the Spring Carnival. Current students and their families mingled with faculty and staff, alumni, and incoming families, and enjoyed a variety of fun activities.
Happiness is Singing Together in the Spring Musical!
Months of hard work and singing together culminated in amazing performances on May 18 and 19 of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” this year’s spring musical. The Yvette Siegel-Herzog Performing Arts Center rang with laughter, cheers, and applause as the cast and crew brought the audience on a journey celebrating the highs and lows of childhood.
