On April 28, approximately 600 guests got a chance to “look under the hood” of Stephen Gaynor School during the school’s traditional Relatives and Special Friends Day. From impressive alumni panelists to engaging classroom visits, the goal was to showcase Gaynor’s mission at work.

In late April, the Blue Cluster traveled to Washington, DC to visit iconic monuments and museums, while also having fun experiencing new things with their fellow students.

Emily Barnes has been selected as Gaynor’s inaugural Director of Outreach and Innovation beginning July 1, following a thorough and competitive search.

For the past decade, the Technology and Psychology Departments have worked together to implement a digital citizenship curriculum with an eye to staying current on both technology trends and healthy online practices. We sat down with Director of Technology & Operations Matthew LeWinter and Senior Consultant Dr. Clare Cosentino to ask them about the evolution of the digital citizenship curriculum, the partnership between Gaynor and parents, why parents need to pay attention to this issue, and how they can help their children live healthier digital lives.

Broadway, TV, and film actor and Gaynor alumni parent BD Wong visited a rehearsal for the Blue Cluster’s upcoming spring musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Students in the Pink Cluster transformed their classrooms into their very own Yummy Bakery (Room 220) and Yummy Pizzeria (Room 217) as part of their social studies curriculum.

After a comprehensive and competitive search, we are thrilled to announce that Rebecca Felt will be the Director of Intermediate Division beginning July 1.

On April 11, over 200 members of the Gaynor community joined together for a special screening of the documentary on ADHD, The Disruptors. The film and the panel discussion had the audience nodding their heads in recognition as the stories and experiences resonated with those in the room.

After a comprehensive search, Stephen Gaynor School will be welcoming Stella Heyliger-Mulatu as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion beginning July 1, 2023. Ms. Mulatu comes to us from The Town School where she currently serves as a first grade Co-Head Teacher. Ms. Mulatu holds a B.A. in Africana Studies from Vassar College and an M.S.Ed. in Early Childhood Special Education from Hunter College.
