They say one of the best abilities is availability, and there was no better example than this year’s softball team. While there was a lot of rain in April and we had a few teams cancel on us early in the season, the Gators were always ready and willing to play. Rain or shine, they continued to go to work during practices in the field house or gymnasium all season long. For our efforts, the team was given the opportunity to play against an undefeated team from Heschel for the AIPSL Championship. The players made the most of their opportunity and seemed to put everything together, coming out on the winning side of an 8-2 game.

Each and every player made great contributions to the team, but there were a few standouts from the league championship that deserve special recognition. As the away team, we were given the chance to bat first and set the pace right away with a triple from Blaise D. This was followed by a double from Sean R., setting the table for an Ethan S. two-run home run. Max H. pitched the entire game and Sammy R. did well behind the plate, along with great plays from Jack S. and Charlie K.

Eliza B., PJ D., Kate H. and Ben B. continued to provide support as veterans of the team.

Way to go, Gators!
