Cross Country

As the curtain closes on the 2019 fall sports season, our athletes can look back on a season filled with comradeship, teamwork, and personal improvement.

The Green/Flex Squad ended their soccer season with a loss to Cathedral on November 4. Gaynor Volleyball took on Cathedral School, and ended their run with a 25-20, 16-25, 18-25 loss.

The last cross country meet was a success for the Gaynor Gators. The majority of the runners beat their personal bests to close out the season. Coach Caitlin Kearney reported, “Calvin Hills continued to lead the boys running an impressive 11:06. Chace Roebling was the second Gaynor boy and came in at 11:36. Gus Hubner wowed us all by shaving off 30 seconds from his previous race coming in as the 3rd Gaynor boy. Halle Maanavi ran her heart out coming in the top 25 and was the first Gaynor girl at 12:21. Madeline Bender showed everyone how hard she has been working in practices by placing 2nd of the Gaynor girls and shaving almost a minute off her previous best. Yma Xhafa was one of the most improved runners throughout the season as she was able to decrease her time by more than 6 minutes over the season. We had a very successful season and we are proud of all of the Gaynor athletes.”

Way to go, Gators!
