There’s a Lot to be Thankful For at Gaynor

Dr. Gaynor says hello to those picking up the food pantry donations.

At Gaynor, Thanksgiving may have started a little early this year, but the themes of giving and gratitude are timeless. Last week, the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive kicked off and students were encouraged to bring in Thanksgiving dinner items to benefit the food pantries of Blessed Sacrament and The Church of St. Paul the Apostle. On Friday, students consolidated, counted, and charted the food donations received during the past week which filled up an astonishing 140 bags.

Also on Friday, students from Ms. Paterson and Ms. Smotkin’s class paid a special visit to Dr. Gaynor during which they shared letters they wrote thanking teachers who made their experience at Gaynor special. One student wrote that Gaynor is an amazing school where he feels safe and the classes are awesome. “I couldn’t think of a better description of how our faculty and staff work together to create an environment where children can reach their full potential,” said Dr. Gaynor. “I am grateful to be part of a caring community that makes a difference in the lives of so many people.”

From all of us at Gaynor, we wish you and your family a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday.
