Summer Camp 2024: EC Division

Rebecca Jurow, Camp Director, rjurow@stephengaynor.org

Summer presents a challenge to all school children, but especially to the youngest learners at Gaynor. Our six-week EC Summer Camp Program offers unique opportunities for incoming and continuing students to maintain their learning and social skills through a combination of light academic curriculum and fun social activities.

Gaynor’s EC Summer Camp is designed and run by our team of special educators, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists. This six-week program focuses on development of self-help, fine and gross motor, social, and cognitive/learning skills. Our therapists join teachers to help develop students’ skills through a variety of fun activities, including group games, water activities, arts and crafts, and trips to the playground. Orton-Gillingham reading instruction and math skills are also reinforced through small group instruction.

During each camp day (from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm),  we focus on academic reinforcement, self-regulation and social skills, small group work, art, music and creative movement, and physical education and yoga. On Fridays, we dismiss at 12:30 pm so campers can enjoy an early start to the weekend.

Registration is available in one-week sessions for two, three, four, five, or six weeks. Campers must register for consecutive weeks. Registration deadline is May 1.
