Earth Day Roundup 2022

Gaynor students got their hands dirty and enjoyed the great outdoors to honor Earth Day on April 22.

To celebrate Earth Day, Silver Cluster Student Bella L. independently created a presentation about recycling. Her presentation teaches students how to recycle properly, the right bins to use, and ways to help the environment. Head Teacher Sabrina Douge said, “She has been visiting classrooms throughout the school to present and is so proud of her work!”

Green Cluster students headed to Riverside Park to enjoy the spring flowers, and the Green Cluster teachers really got into the mood with Earth Day-themed shirts!

Students in the Orange Cluster created crowns for Earth Day and took a trip to Central Park, and students in the Pink Cluster enjoyed a tour by a Park Ranger!

The Willow Room in the Early Childhood Program had a very busy Earth Day. Ms. Fell said, “We planted grass seeds! Played with soil and seeds and made our own Earths out of recycled cardboard, model magic and paint sticks. We each made a promise of how we would take care of the Earth everyday!”

Blue Cluster students enjoyed a scavenger hunt throughout Central Park, and spent time appreciating nature and exploring how humans create and use green spaces.
