Authors Visit Gaynor in Advance of Book Fair

Each year to kick off the Book Fair, the Parents’ Association Book Fair Committee invites authors to Gaynor to speak with students about their books and the wonderful world of reading. Three children’s book authors came to Gaynor this week to speak to our students in the Yvette Siegel-Herzog Performing Arts Center. Nandana Sen, author Kangaroo Kisses and a Gaynor parent, spoke with the Pink and Purple Clusters. Susannah Aziz, who authored  Halal Hot Dogs, spoke with the Red, Orange, and Yellow Clusters. Finally, David Ouimet, author of I Go Quiet, spoke with our students in the Silver, Green, and Blue Clusters.

April 27 and 28 will mark the return of the in-person Book Fair. Students in all clusters will visit the fair over the two-day event to peruse and purchase books.

At Stephen Gaynor School, students with learning differences develop essential academic and critical thinking skills through individualized and evidence-based approaches, empowering them to reach their full potential. Students learn to advocate for themselves and others while actively building an inclusive community, a sense of belonging, and a belief in their own possibilities.
