On March 16, 2026, the Gaynor community came together for an unforgettable evening at Gaynor Gala 2026: One Night, Many Stories.
Held at Pier Sixty, a longtime favorite and one of the city’s most elegant waterfront venues, the return to this special setting made the night feel all the more meaningful. It had been some time since the Gala was last held there, and being back brought a renewed sense of energy and celebration.
From the moment guests arrived, it was clear the evening would be something special. Over cocktails, conversation, and music, the venue quickly filled with the warmth and spirit of a community united by a shared purpose.
The formal program began with remarks from Head of School Dr. Scott Gaynor, who reflected on the legacy of the school and the educators who make its work possible. Scott spoke about the importance of ensuring every child is “truly seen, understood, and empowered,” a message that carried throughout the night. That message came to life in the Gala film and through a series of powerful speakers, each sharing their own connection to Gaynor.
Host Adam Pally brought humor and heart to the evening, sharing the story of his son Cole and the transformation his family experienced at Gaynor. His remarks set the tone for a night that balanced laughter with genuine reflection.
Alumnus Nick Kenner ’90 followed with a deeply personal story of his journey from a young student navigating dyslexia and ADHD to founding and leading a nationally recognized company.
“The tools that your kids are building right now, the resilience, the grit, the ability to work harder than anyone else in the room, these aren’t consolation prizes. These are superpowers.”
Steve Madden, entrepreneur and Gaynor parent, shared his own experience growing up with learning differences at a time when schools like Gaynor did not exist. His perspective highlighted just how transformative the school’s approach is for students today.
Board Chair Megan Hogan delivered one of the evening’s most moving reflections, sharing her son’s journey and the friendships and confidence built along the way. “When we invest in this school, we invest in every child who walks through its doors, so they never feel alone.”
The energy in the room carried into a lively and highly successful auction and paddle raise. With generosity on full display, guests came together to support Gaynor’s Endowment, helping to ensure that the school remains strong, accessible, and impactful for generations to come.
Throughout the evening, one theme remained clear. The stories that begin at Gaynor continue far beyond its classrooms.
This year’s Gala also honored the Blue Cluster, Gaynor’s graduating class, whose journeys reflect the confidence, resilience, and growth that define a Gaynor education.
As the night came to a close, One Night, Many Stories proved to be more than a theme. It was a reflection of the community itself. Each story shared, each connection made, and each act of generosity will carry forward in the lives of Gaynor students for years to come.
