This Week in Gaynor Sports: December 6-9

Both the boys and girls basketball teams had two games each this week.

On Monday, Dec. 6, the boys basketball team faced off against Winston Preparatory School. They played hard and came out with a 33-23 win.

On Wednesday, Dec. 8, both squads played against Gaynor’s neighbor, the Geneva School. The Squad B competed with amazing energy, keeping their feet moving and making sure their offense was strong. They pulled out a 35-11 win.

The Squad A played a riveting game, going into quadruple overtime with a score of 33-33. They ultimately came out on top with a final score of 35-33.

The Gaynor girls Squad B played against Rodeph Sholom School on Tuesday, Dec. 7. They gave the game their all. Serena A. scored during the third quarter, but unfortunately the team lost to RSS 2-28.

Assistant Athletics Director Jacqueline Smith said, “The energy on the court was great! The referees took their time to teach the girls about the rules, so it could not have been a better first game for them!”

On Thursday, Dec. 9, Squad A played against the Geneva School. The players were aggressive and gave the game their all, but unfortunately lost 18-26.
