The Importance of Early Childhood Education

Stephen Gaynor School’s Early Childhood program is a unique and innovative model; as far as we are aware, it is the only program of its kind in New York City. At Gaynor, we know how important it is to reach children early, before they begin to experience failures in learning. We have created a video (see below) that highlights our Early Childhood program, and also provides parents and educators with insight on how they might recognize learning differences in preschool children.

We are proud of our Early Childhood program, the teachers and specialists who challenge themselves to find an individualized approach for each child, and the children themselves, who work hard (and play hard) every day.

At Stephen Gaynor School, students with learning differences develop essential academic and critical thinking skills through individualized and evidence-based approaches, empowering them to reach their full potential. Students learn to advocate for themselves and others while actively building an inclusive community, a sense of belonging, and a belief in their own possibilities.
