Research demonstrates that learning differences reflect unique brain structures and functions, completely separate from intelligence. In fact, many students with learning differences can thrive in mainstream classrooms when given the right support from informed educators. With practical, evidence-based strategies, you can easily create an inclusive environment where every student succeeds.

Join us to learn hands-on approaches you can seamlessly bring into your classroom, including multisensory instructional methods, diagnostic-prescriptive teaching, differentiated instruction, and scaffolding.

This workshop is eligible for NYSED CTLE hours.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Jill Thompson

Jill Thompson has served as Assistant Head of School at Stephen Gaynor School for the past 10 years. In this role, she has guided the integration of executive function skill development throughout the academic program and leads and teaches in the school’s Senior Educator Program, which prepares experienced faculty members for leadership and mentoring roles. Jill has worked in special education for more than 23 years. After earning her master’s degree in educational leadership from Bank Street College in 2008, she transitioned into school administration, serving first as Assistant Principal in Paoli, Pennsylvania, and later as a Head of School in Silver Spring, Maryland. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in special education at George Washington University.
