To kick off their literacy study of the French and Indian War, the entire Silver Cluster engaged in a game of Tug of War to simulate the controversial battle between the British, French, and Native Americans. Teachers helped students to recreate battle situations, such as blockades and adding in military forces, in order for students to determine what advantages and disadvantages each side had in the French and Indian War. Students then went back with their individual classes to reflect on their experiences in this activity and further discuss the details of the war.
