Here’s What You’re Missing If You’re Not Listening to Gator Gab

Posted on Thursday, September 22nd, 2022

Did you know that Stephen Gaynor School has its very own podcast? Each week, we release a new episode of Gator Gab, the audio companion to Gaynor Notes. Like the Notes, it features news and upcoming events, but it is much more of an immersive experience. And, you can listen while you commute, cook, or while you’re waiting to pick up the kids!

This year so far, we’ve featured interviews with the division directors, our PA president, and this week, with Head of School Dr. Scott Gaynor.

Dr. Gaynor let us know what he’s most excited for this year, which includes our 60th Anniversary, a new strategic plan, and our work on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), social emotional learning (SEL), and identity. Of the latter, Dr. Gaynor said, “We’re celebrating building a community that celebrates everybody’s identity and I’m really excited about it… The theme of celebrating identity is a powerful one, and one that’s going to bring our community together after a period of time where there have been barriers to us being a tighter community because of COVID. So it really looks like a great year ahead for us.”

This week’s episode also offers an audio peek into a Red Cluster classroom as the students (literally) jump into phonological awareness!
