Gaynor Cares About Hurricane Relief

Posted on Friday, September 1st, 2017

Hurricane Harvey has been devastating and far-reaching in its impact on Texas residents. As we gear up to start a new academic year at Gaynor, we are thinking of students in Texas who have lost belongings, are unable to obtain access to supplies, and/or attend school, due to damage from flooding and high winds. After discussing how Gaynor and our community could help with hurricane relief, we have identified a partner school in the Houston Independent School District, Briarmeadow Charter School.

This two-pronged effort begins with a drive for school supplies starting on the first day of school, September 7, and continues through September 14, during which time designated boxes for drop-off will be placed in the lobbies of the North and South Buildings. On September 15, the Parents’ Association will host a bake sale which will raise additional proceeds to support Briarmeadow. The drive and bake sale are the first efforts of a year-long commitment by Gaynor for hurricane relief.

We appreciate everyone’s support of these relief efforts, and we look forward to working together as a community to make a difference.
