European Explorers Visit Gaynor

Posted on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016

As the culmination of a weeks-long research project, Silver Cluster students brought their teachers and parents back in time as they presented their work as the European Explorers they were assigned.

Over the past few weeks, the students did a great deal of research, note taking, writing and editing in order to be ready to present their work. Students wrote an informational paragraph as well as a diary entry from the perspective of their assigned explorer. Both pieces of writing described the events leading up to their journeys as well as their experiences along the way.

On the day of the presentation, students dressed up like their explorers, used props and/or pictures to add to the atmosphere, and read their work aloud. The presentations were engaging, informative, and even funny!
