Compassion in Action
Launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Compassion In Action Fund will be used to support financial aid, any unplanned expenses that might arise for the school, and to help our families, faculty and staff, if they find themselves in sudden need.
Who should support this fund?
We are hoping for broad support. With the unanimous and generous support from the Board of Trustees leading the way, we are asking for participation from parents, grandparents, alumni parents, faculty/staff, and friends of the school, and hope the entire Gaynor community will join in this important effort.
How is the Compassion in Action Fund different from the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is a separate effort and still remains the ongoing philanthropic priority of the school. It will continue to directly support the mission of the school by helping to support the operating costs, of which 86% are faculty and staff related. A gift to the Annual Fund helps to show support for our hardworking faculty and staff.
What is the easiest way to make a donation?
The easiest way to donate is online. Once you have selected your gift amount, please choose Compassion In Action Fund from the “Gift Fund Options” drop-down menu under GIFT INFORMATION.
Donations from donor-advised funds, gifts of stock, and matching gifts can all be accepted for this fund. Please contact the Advancement Office for more instructions.
How does someone request support from this fund?
To date, the Compassion In Action fund has supported Gaynor families through tuition assistance and aid for rent, utility bills, groceries, and technology needs. Tuition based requests for financial aid are handled by the Financial Aid Committee and additional needs that arise from families or faculty/staff will be addressed on a case-by-case basis by school leadership. Requests for support can be submitted through this form or sent to headofschool@stephengaynor.org
