| GIVING TO STEPHEN GAYNOR |
| Ways to Give |

GIFTS OF CASH
Personal checks are the most popular way to make a gift
to the Stephen Gaynor School. Donors simply indicate that
they are paying their pledge by check and enclose an initial
payment and return it with the Letter of Intent form to
the School. Checks should be made payable to Stephen Gaynor
School
GIFTS OF SECURITIES
The tax-benefits of making a gift of appreciated securities
may be two-fold. The cost-basis of the stock will be lower
than the actual gift, allowing the donor to avoid paying
capital gains on the increase in value of the stock, and
the donor will receive an income tax deduction and gift
credit from the Stephen Gaynor School for the full market
value of the stock at the time of the contribution.
Instructions for transferring stock to the School may
be obtained from the Development Office.
MATCHING GIFTS
There are many companies that match their employees’ gifts
to independent schools. For example, if a donor gives $5000
to Stephen Gaynor School, a matching gift company will
also give $5000 to Stephen Gaynor, and thus the donor is
credited with a $10,000 gift. Some companies will even
match gifts on a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio.
Donors simply need to contact their human resources offices
for the appropriate forms and forward them with their gifts
to the School for completion.
