The
speech and language program provides each student with
strategies designed to facilitate learning and enhance
social communication. Language is an integral part of all
academic areas. Children are seen by our speech/language
pathologists in the classroom, in dyads and in one-to-one
settings. The focus is on facilitating receptive, expressive
and social language.
Speech/language pathologists work side by side with head
teachers to address the curriculum and communication needs
of each student. Speech/language pathologists at the Stephen
Gaynor School are state licensed and are certified by the
American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
