The social studies curriculum begins with the study of the self in relation to our community. Areas of instruction include the study of early civilizations, global studies, American history and government, other cultures and current events. A multifaceted approach brings art, computer, writing, drama and music into the curriculum. Recognizing the vast historical resources of New York City, groups go on many field trips and visit museums to further explore topics being studied.
