ADMISSION
Stephen Gaynor School At a Glance

The Stephen Gaynor School, founded in 1962, is an independent, non-profit organization that provides a unique educational experience for children ages 5 -14 with learning differences in a nurturing environment where children are helped to reach their academic potential. At Stephen Gaynor the pattern of academic failure is broken and children are taught to become successful learners with unlimited potential.

Guiding Principle
The guiding principle of the Stephen Gaynor School is to create an environment in which children can grow academically, socially and emotionally.  A highly trained, dedicated staff of teachers, clinicians, specialists and administrators works to create a climate of caring in which students are encouraged to take risks as learners, secure in the knowledge that their educational journey is as important as their successes.  We prepare children to look back with pride at what they have achieved, utilize the strategies they have learned, practice sound principles of citizenship and advocate for themselves wherever their next steps after the Stephen Gaynor School may take them.  The ultimate aim of the Stephen Gaynor School’s staff and administration is to foster and encourage the development of self-aware learners who can enter into a community of peers with respect for themselves and others.
